Visakhapatnam: Youth kills man for teasing his mother

VISAKHAPATNAM: A 45-year-old man was murdered at Allipuram in Vizag city on Sunday. The victim, G Srinu, was murdered by one Prasad, 23, for allegedly eve-teasing his mother Gowri. The deceased, Srinu, was a painter by profession.
Two-Town police said that Srinu was addicted to alcohol. He teased Gowri, a maid, when she was returning home from work on Sunday morning.Srinu, who was drunk, allegedly misbehaved with her by trying to catch hold of the woman’s hand, following which an angry Gowri got into a heated argument with Srinu. Later, the locals pacified the duo.
However, Gowri informed her son, Prasad, about the incident.
Prasad came to the spot and murdered Srinu. The police said that Srinu hit the victim on his head with a brick. The visuals of the accused dragging Srinu on the road were captured on a CCTV camera installed at a nearby shop. The woman and her son left the place after confirming that Srinu has died.
“We found that there was no rivalry between Srinu and Prasad and the murder was a result of the eve-teasing. The body has been sent for post-mortem. Based on the CCTV footage and other evidences, we have arrested Prasad and his mother,” police said.
