World Water Day observed

Visakhapatnam: The NSS team of GITAM School of Nursing celebrated World Water Day on Tuesday. The School principal Dr T Lakshmamma was the chief guest of the day. She said that as per the WHO estimates, around 1.4 million people die annually and 74 million will have their lives shortened by diseases related to poor water, sanitation, and hygiene. "Almost half of the global population lacks sanitation. The global water demand is projected to increase by 55% by 2050,” Dr Lakshmamma added. tnn
