Worker dies in pharma plant mishap in Andhra Pradesh

VISAKHAPATNAM: A 35-year-old worker of Corey Organics Private Limited, a manufacturer and supplier of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), died in an accident that took place in one of the plant's reactors on Tuesday.


The deceased was identified as Kintada Raja Rao of Kannavanipalem in Chodavaram mandal.

A police officer told TOI that the reactor was cleaned on Monday and he was fixing the pebbles and other equipment in the reactor. While entering into the reactor, he slipped and fell inside it.

He was taken to a hospital where he died during treatment, the officer said.
