Vizianagaram district collector, Dr M Hari Jawaharlal turned farmer on Tuesday to cultivate the nearly half acre land inside the collector’s bungalow. The collector tilled the land with a tractor, which was divided into two blocks.
Speaking on the occasion, Jawaharlal said that he had taken up zero-budget natural farming since last year. In the first block comprising 30 cents land, the collector planted groundnut and red gram seeds.
In another 20 cents land, the collector planted green gram seeds as an internal crop. tnn
