VISAKHAPATNAM: As part of efforts to convert Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (Vuda) into a paperless e-office, vice-chairman N Yuvaraj directed officials to computerise and upload online details of shops and establishments that have been let out by the urban development body.
He directed Vuda secretary GC Kishore Kumar, chief accounts officer D Vijaya Bharathi and executive engineer (IT) V Bhavani Shankar to take measures to upload details of every shop, office or commercial establishment allotted by Vuda by February 5, including allotment orders, agreements and other related information.
Having convened a meet on Thursday, he said the move is aimed at making services more transparent and user-friendly. “At the same time, it will result in information being available just a click away for citizens. The mechanism for self-calculation of rents, dues and all other issues by the allottees should also be placed online,” Yuvaraj added.
Later, Yuvaraj issued stringent orders to prepare asset registers recording full details of movable and immovable properties of Vuda. The registers should be prepared and maintained at regular intervals by the head of the concerned wing, as decided by the Vuda board, or else the heads will be made responsible for lapse, Yuvaraj said.
