VISAKHAPATNAM: A number of universities and engineering colleges in Visakhapatnam celebrated Engineer’s Day on Sunday. Andhra University organised a tech fest called ‘Access-2019’ to mark the occasion.
In his address to students, Andhra University vice-chancellor Prof PVGD Prasad Reddy told students to take inspiration from the lives of luminaries like Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya.
“Hard work is one of the prime components to achieve goals in life,” the vice-chancellor said.
Director of the Indian Institute of Petroleum and Engineering (IIPE), Prof VSRK Prasad, among the distinguished guests who attended the programme highlighted the importance of teachers in the age of information technology.
Vignan’s Institution of Information Technology had organised a national-level technical fest on the eve of Engineer’s Day. Joint secretary of UGC, Dr Shakeel Ahmed visited the campus on the occasion and conducted a session for doctoral faculty on educational and scientific views. tnn
