Truck mows down 2 teenagers in VZM
Visakhapatnam: Two people died on the spot while another person suffered grievous injuries when a truck mowed down their motorcycle at Aarikathota village in Rambadrapuram mandal in Vizianagaram district on Sunday. The deceased were identified as D Eswar Rao (19) and G Harishchandra Prasad (16). E Lokesh Kumar suffered injuries.
According to reports, Eswar Rao and Prasad were sitting on their motorcycle and were speaking to their friend Lokesh on the highway, when a speeding truck rammed into the motorcycle and fled.

Upon witnessing the accident, locals called for an ambulance. The ambulance allegedly took an inordinate amount of time to arrive. When it did, the ambulance staff declared Eswar Rao and Prasad dead.
After the two youths were declared dead, villagers staged a protest alleging that the ambulance took too long to arrive and claimed that the youths would have been alive if the ambulance had arrived on time. The villagers further demanded that the police take measures to catch the truck driver who mowed down the youths.
S Simhadri, inspector of Saluru police station said that the police have registered cases under sections 304(A) and 338 of the IPC and are conducting further investigation.
The dead bodies have been shifted to a government hospital for post-mortem, the inspector added.
