VISAKHAPATNAM: As nation celebrates 50 years of decisive victory of the 1971 India-Pak War in the form of ‘Swarnim Vijay Varsh’, the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) celebrated the 50th anniversary of Vijay Diwas by paying tributes to the valiant personnel of the Armed Forces who made the supreme sacrifice during various operations in the 1971 War on Thursday.

The Nation celebrates Vijay Diwas on December 16 every year to commemorate the historic victory against Pakistan in the 1971 War. On this momentous day, 50 years ago, the world witnessed the largest unconditional surrender of regular Pakistani troops under the command of Lieutenant General AAK Niazi to the three tri-service Commanders of Indian Armed Forces in Dhaka, which resulted in the liberation of Bangladesh.
