As foul smell started emanating from the storeroom, residents grew suspicious and alerted the police. The body was partially buried.
Police identified the victim as L Jaya Lakshmi. They suspect the role of her son L Rajasekhar, 30, a mechanical engineer. The woman’s daughter Rajya Lakshmi, 27, lodged a complaint with the police.
Gajuwaka police circle inspector M Appa Rao said they are yet to ascertain the exact reason for the death of Jaya Lakshmi. The body was sent to KGH for postmortem and her son was taken into custody for interrogation.
Sources said Jaya Lakshmi owns property in Gajuwaka area. Her husband, Rajulu, died in 1991. Since then, she has been living with her two children. Jaya Lakshmi’s refusal to her son’s love affair with a girl and a property dispute may have led to her murder.
