‘Shifting’ of BIS office to Vij rued

Visakhapatnam: GVMC Jana Sena corporator P Murthy Yadav alleged that the Vizag-based Bureau of Indian Standards’ office is being shifted to Vijayawada due to state government’s negligence. Speaking to the media here in Visakhapat- nam on Saturday, Murthy Yadav claimed that BIS’ office in Vizag is issuing quality certifications to various organisations for their goods and services.“Visakhapatnam is known as the industrial and financial capital of AP. Even though the state industries minister G Amarnathbelongs to Vizag, it is very unfortunate to see the BIS office being taken away from this region,” said Murthy. TNN
