Visakhapatnam: One wagon of a goods train derailed between Tadi and Anakapalli stations in the early hours of Wednesday. The incident delayed many trains including Vande Bharat for three hours.
The authorities are yet to find out the exact reason for the derailment.
The coal-laden goods train met with an
accident around 4 am on Wednesday, and the track was severely damaged due to the derailment.
The railway cancelled a few passengers and express trains on Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada line and rescheduled the Vande Bharat superfast express.
The railway announced that Janmabhoomi superfast express (12805 ) from Visakhapatnam to Lingampalli, Visakhapatnam to Guntur Simhadri Express (17240), and Vijayawada to Vizag and Vizag to Vijayawada
Uday Express trains (22701 and 22702) were cancelled on Wednesday.
Two trains — 17239 Simhadri Express from Guntur to Visakhapatnam, and 12806 Lingampalli to Visakhapatnam Janmabhoomi Express - scheduled for Thursday, have also been cancelled.
Services resumed on the line at 10.30 am.
