He also stepped down from his role overseeing the Bheemili Assembly constituency. Rao cited “personal reasons” for his departure in a resignation letter to chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

“As I have decided to stay away from politics due to personal reasons, I am resigning from the YSRCP and Bheemili constituency in-charge responsibilities,” Rao stated in his letter. He expressed gratitude to Reddy for the opportunities given to him.

Rao, a prominent figure in the education sector, also claimed a lack of respect for party leaders and workers within the YSRCP, both politically and financially.

He asserted that party members have faced hardships over the past five years and criticized the call for renewed agitation against the TDP-led NDA government so soon. Rao emphasised the need for democratic functioning within political parties.
