RINL encourages digital mode
Visakhapatnam: RINL officials exhorted vendors to move to a complete cashless mode for their daily transactions.
In tune with the government efforts towards a cashless and digital economy, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited -Corporate Social Responsibility (RINL-CSR) department organised an awareness session for the vendors in Ukkunagaram on Thursday. The session was organised in association with Andhra Bank and town administration departments of RINL with a view to help transition to digital payments in the township.
R Sankar Rao, chief manager (Andhra Bank), underlined the need to go for digital payments and use of electronic point of sale (ePoS) machines for achieving transparency. The session also addressed the grievances of the vendors as they tried to move towards a cashless mode.
RINL-CSR is conducting such sessions in collaboration with Andhra Bank in the township as well as surrounding villages. Digital awareness has been imparted in areas where RINL-CSR projects are under implementation including adult literacy programme, vocational skill development programmes, eye camps, roof sheeting works, said a release.
