VISAKHAPATNAM: Union minister of state for commerce and industry D Purandeswari has asked the heads of certain public sector units to allocate some corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds for her parliamentary constituency for work such as maintenance of mosques and burial grounds, provision of chairs and desks in government high schools, tiles in social welfare and BC welfare hostels and solar power facilities in villages.

"I would like to request you to indicate the work of your choice along with the amount that can be earmarked under CSR by June 10, 2013," she said in her letter, which was addressed to V Bhujanga Rao, director, Naval Science and Technology Labaratory (NSTL), Rear Admiral N K Mishra, chairman and managing director (CMD), Hindustan Shipyard Limited, A P Choudhary, CMD, RINL, Vizag Steel Plant, C P Chengappa, MD, Bharat Heavy Plate and Vessels Limited, Ajeya Kallam, chairman, VPT and Vice Admiral Anil Chopra, flag officer commanding-in-chief, Eastern Naval Command.
