) funds allocated towards women welfare, the operations of the Port, and in up-keeping the Port clean and tidy.
The parliamentary standing committee came on a 2-day visit to Visakhapatnam visited
Visakhapatnam Port Trust
(VPT) on Friday. The committee made a discussion with VPT officials on the CSR activities undertaken by the VPT for the welfare of the women in connection with the examination of the subject Corporate social responsibility towards women.
VPT chairman K. Rama Mohana Rao explained the port operations, facilities, and infrastructure available in VPT through a PowerPoint presentation. The
Parliamentary Committee
was taken for a Launch Cruise also. The chairman VPT also explained about the latest developments like Simulation Study to handle Cape, Super Cape vessels into the Inner Harbour and also newly developed Container Scanner equipment in VPT.
