Panchayat secy held for bribery

Visakhapatnam: Officials of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Kanakababu, panchayat secretary at Golagam in Anakapalle district, for demanding and accepting a bribe of 7,000 from one T Babji. ACB officials said Kanakababu demanded bribe to impose property tax on the newly constructed first storey of a building owned by Babji’s brother and also for changing the name in the property tax document. The officials also seized ₹10,000 unaccounted cash from Kanakababu’s office. TNN
