Organic tag for Araku coffee

Visakhapatnam: The GCC has achieved another milestone as it has got the organic certification for coffee and black pepper from the APEDA, a Centre’s organization. This certification would provide scope for the higher price of the coffee and pepper.
APEDA has given the organic certification for coffee and pepper crops cultivated by around 1,300 farmers on 21,104 acres in the Gondipakalu, Lammasingi, and Kappalu clusters in the Chintapalli division. The GCC managing director G Suresh Kumar said that the process of organic certification for the coffee and pepper is being cultivated on 3,393 acres by 1300 farmers in GK Veedhi, Pedavalasa, and Erracheruvulu clusters in GK Veedhi mandal. The certification is expected to be issued by the end of January 2004.
