Andhra Pradesh committee chairman B Seshasayana Reddy inspected dumping yards and studied the scientific segregation of dry and wet waste here on Tuesday.
As part of the state-level tour for the last few weeks, Reddy visited Vizianagaram municipality, said collector Dr M Hari Jawaharlal, who accompanied the team.
Reddy visited Malicharla in the district as the village as emerged as one of the ideal villages in the state in scientific segregation of waste.
Later, Reddy held a meeting with the district administration at the collector’s office wherein he underlined the importance of giving a clean and healthy environment to future generations for which, he said, every stakeholder must take equal and collective responsibility to protect the planet.
He suggested the sanitary department staff not to mix separately collected dry and wet waste at dumping yards, but recycle it. tnn
