MP, Maharashtra top groups after easy wins

Visakhapatnam: Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra topped the Pool G and H respectively as the league phase of the 13th senior Naitonal women’s hockey championship came to an end at the DSA ground, Kakinada on Wednesday. Maharashtra trounced Tamil Nadu 8-0 and MP defeated Delhi 7-1. Puducherry beat Andaman and Nicobar 12-0 for their only win Pn pool H. Manipur blanked Telangana 13-0 in Pool G . Archery team for inter-dist meetAn eight-member team would represent the combined Visakhapatnam and ASR districts in the senior inter-district archery championship. S Ukta won gold and silver in the hockey, T Shanmukha Rakesh claimed skateboarding gold, B Ashritha won salome freestyle silver while Ch V Pavan Karthikeya and D Venuvardhan won bronze medals in the skateboarding and artistic free skating events.
