Min: Works on ESI hosps to begin soon
Visakhapatnam: Minister of state for labour and employment Rameshwar Teli said construction of two ESI hospitals would begin soon in Vizag. He said the government approved the construction of 350-bed employees’ state insurance (ESI) hospital in Sheelanagar. The hospital will have 50 additional beds in a super specialty wing and will be spread over a plot area of 8.58 acres with a built-up area of 63,373 square metres.

The minister added the facilities at the hospital would include outdoor patient department (OPD), casualty, gynaecology, operation theatre, orthopaedic, electrocardiogram (ECG), radiology, laboratory, blood bank, general wards, cath lab, chemotherapy, intensive care unit, neonatal and paediatric intensive care units among others.
The matter regarding the change of the land use for the ESI hospital in Atchutapuram that delayed the construction of the sanctioned hospital has been resolved and the permission was received on May 17. The minister stated that the ESI corporation has acquired two acres of land for the construction of a 30-bed hospital and its possession was received on May 21. The construction work of the project has been assigned to Central Public Works Department (CPWD).
He said the renovation work of the ESI hospital at Malkapuram has been completed.
