Visakhapatnam: Opener K Maheep Kumar scored an unbeaten double century (240; 354b,4x27,6x3) and P Girinath Reddy hit a ton (113; 156b,4x15) as Andhra piled up 417 for six against Chandigarh in the Col CK Nayudu trophy league match at the ACA-YSRR stadium, Kadapa on Monday. Andhra resumed at 68 for one on the second day and have a lead of 231 runs at stumps. Maheep shared 66 runs for the second wicket with Vamsikrishna (24), 64 runs for the fifth wicket and 235 runs for the sixth wicket with Girinath.
Brief scores: Chandigarh 186 vs Andhra 417/6 in 121 overs (K. Maheep Kumar 240 batting, P Girinath Reddy 113; Mohammad Ashad 4/65).
Jyothi congratulated
The Visakhapatnam Athletics Association congratulated women’s 100m hurdles national record holder Yerraji Jyothi on her selection to the Indian team participating in the 10th Asian indoor athletics championships to be held in Astana, Kazakhstan from February 10 to 12. President of the association D. Nageswara Rao, general secretary M. Narayana Rao and other office-bearers wished Jyothi to perform well.

Holders Andhra Jyothi defeated Andhra Prabha by 21 runs to enter final of CMR-VJF inter-media cricket, organised by ViSJA at the Port stadium here on Monday. They meet Video Cameramen XI in the final on Tuesday morning.
