MP resumed at 144 for four and came unstuck against 24-year-old Prithvi. But Andhra’s joy was shortlived as they collapsed like a pack of cards. Pacer Avesh Khan, who played his last ODI five months ago, picked up four for 24, Gourav Yadav three while Kumar Kartikeya Singh had two and Saransh Jain one.
Ashwin Hebbar was the top scorer with 35. Andhra captain GH Vihari, with his broken left wrist strapped heavily, had to step in again as the last batsman. He scored three boundaries batting only with his right hand in a score of 15. He added 17 runs for the last wicket with Prithvi. Shoaib Md. Khan and K Nitish Kumar Reddy were the only other batter to get into double digit scores.
Required to get 245 to win the match, MP were going steady at 58 without loss at stumps.
