Jana Sena candidate Vallabhaneni Balasouri defeated his nearest rival YSRCP's YSRCP's Simhadri Chandra Sekhar Rao by a margin of 2,23,179 votes.
Machilipatnam is one of the 25 Lok Sabha constituencies located in Andhra Pradesh. It comprises seven assembly constituency segments. These assembly segments are situated in the Krishna district.
The voting in Machilipatnam in the Lok Sabha election 2024 took place on May 13 in the fourth phase.
Simhadri Chandra Sekhar Rao of Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP), Gollu Krishna of Indian National Congress (INC), Devamani Devarapalli of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Balashowry Vallabhaneni of Janasena Party are among the keyt candidates contesting from Machilipatnam in the Lok Sabha election 2024.
In the Lok Sabha election 2019, Balashowry Vallabhaneni of the YSRCP won the seat with 5,67,592 votes, accounting for 46.47% of the total votes. Konakalla Narayana Rao of the TDP came in second with 5,09,887 votes, making up 41.75% of the total votes.
In the Lok Sabha election 2014, Konakalla Narayana Rao of the TDP won the seat with 5,83,374 votes, accounting for 51.84% of the total votes. Kolusu Partha Sarathy of the YSRCP came in second with 5,02,875 votes, making up 44.69% of the total votes.
Machilipatnam Parliamentary constituency has a literacy rate of 66.63%.
SC (Scheduled Caste) voters constitute approximately 19.8% of the electorate, while ST (Scheduled Tribe) voters constitute around 2.2%, as per the 2011 Census.
