Ruthik Saagar scalps 6 in Srikakulam win

Visakhapatnam: Left-arm spinner P Ruthik Saagar picked up six wickets as Srikakulam defeated West Godavari by an innings and 143 runs in a league match of the ACA under-16 inter-district multi-day tournament at SKRBR College ground, Narasaraopeta, on Saturday. Meanwhile, Visakhapatnam are set for another big win as J Eswar Vardhan Kumar hit a century while K Gowtham Arya scored 77.For Kurnool, B Mahith picked up five wickets.

APL III from today
The gold-plated new rolling trophy of the Andhra Premier League season III and the new jerseys of the franchisee teams were unveiled at a glittering ceremony here on Saturday. Andhra Cricket Association secretary SR Gopinath Reddy said the APL, started with a view to elevate the Andhra players to the next level, was growing year after year and has the distinction of being the only the third league to get permission from the BCCI. ACA was also the first association to start the women’s T20 league. KS Bharat, Rickey Bhui, K Nitish Kumar Reddy, SK Rasheed played in the IPL and Md Shabnam is now in the Indian team, he pointed out. He further said that they were disappointed to see Nitish Kumar Reddy missout on the Zimbabwe tour due to injury.

for Anantapur
KS Shahabuddin took five wickets to bowl Anatapur to a seven-wicket victory over Guntur in the RDT’s veterans cricket tournament at Anantapur on Saturday.
Brief scores: Guntur 67 in 13.5 overs (KS Shahabuddin 5/11) lost to Anantapur 68/3 in 11.3 overs; Hyderabad 170/9 in 20 overs (Ravikumar 72; Rajkrishna 4/23, Uma Mahesh 3/26) bt Nellore 60 in 16 overs.
ACA mum on Vihari issue
The Andhra Cricket Association is mum on the issue of G Hanuma Vihari. The former Andhra skipper, who took an NOC to play for Madhya Pradesh, was asked by the new state government to reconsider his decision. “He (Vihari) said he was invited back to play for Andhra but there are lot of things to be sorted out. BCCI has to be informed. We have also issued him an NOC,” said the ACA official, adding that ACA would like to take up the issue later.
