Kurnool, Kadapa register comfortable victories

Visakhapatnam: Kurnool and Kadapa recorded comfortable wins in the ACA South zone U-19 Inter-district one-day tournament in Kadapa on Friday. While Kurnool defeated Nellore by four wickets, Kadapa registered a three-wicket victory against Chittoor. R Rohith Varma scored 63 to help Kadapa realise the target. Chasing 244, Kadapa made 248 for seven in 47.5 overs.
Brief scores: Nellore 209/8 in 50 overs (Sutej Reddy 67) lost to Kurnool 210/6 in 42 overs (Manoj Raju 44*, Yegneshwar 36).Chittoor 244 in 47.5 overs (K Reddi Rushil 65; S Ardrith Reddy 3/38, S Mohammed Ayub 3/62) lost to Kadapa 248/7 in 47.5 overs (R Rohith Varma 63; A Brahma Sai Teja Reddy 4/31).
Prasanth to lead Anantapur
DB Prasanth Kumar will lead Anantapur in the ACA South zone seniors’ inter-district tournament at the Anantapur Sports Village from Saturday till July 19. Anantapur meets Chittoor and Nellore take on Kadapa on Saturday.

Anantapur district selections
The Anantapur District Cricket Association trails to select its U-15, 19 and women’s teams will be held at the Anantapur Sports Village from 9 am on July 2. Players born between September 1, 2010 and Sept. 1, 2008 and August 30, 2008 and Sept. 9, 2004 are eligible for U-15 and 19 trials. Aadhar, date of birth, study certificate and own kit are mandatory.
