Kartik wins chess title

Visakhapatnam: N Karthik, a student of a Kendriya Vidyalaya here, won first prize in the 28th Solar Chess Club all-India online tournament for U-14 children in Chennai. N Karthik logged 7.5 points to top the table. Kartik had in the past won a gold in the KV Regional meet in 2019. He had finished second in the all-India FIDE tournament in Hyderabad in 2019 (below 1600 rating group), finished second twice in the state level U-11 tournament and secured first place in the district U-9, 11, 13 and 19 categories.
SAI trials for kabaddi
Sports Authority of India's (SAI) national selection trials for women kabaddi players will commence at various SAI national Centres of Excellence (NCoEs) and non-SAI centres. Trials for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh players will be held at STC Hyderabad on Feb 25 and 26. Girls in the 16-22 years age group as on January 1, 2022 are eligible. SAAP kho-kho, kabaddi, judo leagues
The District Sports Authority will conductt SAAP kho-kho league (for U-18 boys and girls) and kabaddi league (seniors) at the ZP High School, Kasipalem, Atchyutapuram and Andhra University Golden Jubilee ground here respectively on Feb 22. Judo league (U-14 boys and girls) at the DSA Indoor stadium, Pandurangapuram on Feb 23.
