Visakhapatnam: YSRCP president and chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s bus yatra entered Visakhapatnam on Sunday. A large number of YSRCP workers turned up to welcome Jagan. Several road junctions were jam packed with supporters.

Party cadres jostled with one another making it tough for security personnel to handle the crowd at many junctions.

Jagan hit the streets of Visakhapatnam with a roadshow from Chinnayapalem stay point on Sunday morning. The yatra went through Pinagadi Junction, Lakshmi Puram, Vepagunta Junction and halted for lunch at Gopalapatnam. The crowd swelled after Jagan resumed yatra at Gopalapatnam at 3.30 pm. It took nearly three hours for Jagan to reach Kancharapalem centre which is 9.5 km away from Gopalapatnam.

Jagan stood on the vehicle with folded hands for several hours. Jagan’s vehicle was stopped at Kancharapalem junction and party workers raised Jai Jagan slogans and gave aarathi.

Jana Sena leaders from Visakha south join YSRCP
The party leaders and candidates took Jagan's roadshow as a matter of prestige to showcase party's strength. The yatra reached Akkayapalem junction at 7.30 pm and it took another two hours to reach Maddilapalem. Jagan concluded the yatra at MVV city at Yendada by moving through Venkojipalem and Hanumanthavaka.

Meanwhile, some leaders of Jana Sena Party from Visakha south constituency joined the YSRCP in the presence of Jagan at Chinnayapalem stay point.

Giridhar Gampala, who contested in the 2019 assembly elections from Visakha south constituency as JSP candidate, joined the party along with G Sreeja and G Dhanush. Jana Sena leader N Srinivas also joined the party.

Executive trustee of Shankar Foundation, Krishna Kumar, former TDP district president and former UDA director D Bharati, and TDP youth wing leaders Charan, Sandeep, Kiranmayi and Dasu too joined the party.

Chairman of the Federation of AP&TS FCRA NGOs and educationist Alivar Raju Roy from Bheemili joined the party. Roy is a member of the Jana Sena.
