VISAKHAPATNAM: It was a fun day for children at the government
home for girls
in city on Friday as a number of personnel from the
US Navy
visited the school.
Nearly 40 US Navy personnel, including a number of women personnel visited the school.
The government home for girls essentially comprises children who have run away from their homes owing to circumstances.
US Navy personnel played
volleyball
, tug of war and a few other games with the children. The children and the naval personnel also danced to the tunes of a number of Bollywood, Hollywood and Tollywood numbers.
The marines managed to establish an immediate rapport with the kids and ensured that they had a good time.
The US Navy personnel have come to the
Eastern Naval Command
in Visakhapatnam for the maiden India-US joint tri-services humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) exercise titled ‘Tiger Triumph’. The exercise is intended to represent the growing strategic partnership between the two countries.
The aim of the exercise is to share standard operation procedures and best practices.
