Irregularities in housing allocation: Jana Sena

Visakhapatnam: Jana Sena GVMC corporator P Murthy Yadav demanded an enquiry into the allocation of housing units that were constructed in Jalaripeta. The 22nd ward corporator submitted a representation to the GVMC officials during the Spandana programme on Monday. Murthy Yadav said several houses were allocated to the ineligible or non-locals. “Nearly 20 units were illegally sold to the ineligible beneficiaries,” said Murthy Yadav. He alleged some GVMC officials collected 3 lakh as advance per each coordinator post proposed in the urban community development wing of the GVMC from the aspirants. “But the recruitment has not been done. I request the GVMC to initiate an inquiry and take appropriate action against corrupt officials involved in this,” he said. “Similar is the case with the night food court located next to VMRDA Central Park. The UCD wing gave permission to only 26 street vendors but over 160 people are illegally set up there,” said Murthy Yadav.
