In-charge heads of KGH, AMC named

Visakhapatnam: General surgeon and deputy superintendent of King George Hospital (KGH) Dr G Arjuna would be the in-charge medical superintendent of KGH, while cardiology professor Dr Ramana Rao has been named the in-charge principal of Andhra Medical College (AMC). With the present medical superintendent of KGH Dr M Madhusudana Babu and principal of AMC Dr S V Kumar retiring on August 31, the senior doctors have been appointed as their successors for the time being and are to take over charges on September 1.

Medical superintendent of KGH Dr M Madhusudana Babu said, "Health minister Kamineni Srinivas is leaving for about a week on a foreign trip, once he comes back, the regular superintendent and principal would be appointed. I have received orders from the Director of Medical Education (DME), Andhra Pradesh to appoint Dr G Arjuna, deputy superintendent, KGH as in-charge superintendent of KGH from September 1. The present in-charge administrators wouldn't have financial powers though."

Dr Arjuna is a general surgeon, while Dr Ramana Rao is a cardiologist and is due for retirement in December.
