Hosts AP hold Bengal

Visakhapatnam: Hosts Andhra Pradesh and Bengal were involved in a goalless draw in the 13th National senior women hockey championships at the DSA ground, Kakinada on Friday. Holders Odisha beat Kerala 13-0 with Anupa Barla leading the charge with four goals. Madhya Pradesh thrashed Telangana 36-0.

Anantapur, Nellore post wins
Anantapur and Nellore recorded wins in the league phase of the Vincent Ferrer veterans cricket tournament at Anantapur ground.
Brief scores: Kadapa 120/4 in 20 overs (G Srikanth Reddy 47 no) lost to Anantapur 122/3 in 15.4 overs. Nellore 171/4 in 20 overs (M Raja Krishna 75) bt VCA Hyderabad 156/4 in 20 overs.
Big win for Champions CC
Champions CC beat All Stars CC by 360 runs in the VDCA sixth division league match at the ACA-VDCA stadium B ground. VMVS Rakshann hit a double ton (288, 4x19,6x29) and V Ranganath scored a century (162, 4x11,6x13) for the winners.

Visakhapatnam bag overall title
Visakhapatnam won the U-14 overall team title in the 66th SGF state championships held in Kakinada. In rhythmic gymnastics, the girls won gold medals in hoop, clubs, ball and ribbon events. In the boys category, V Naveen won gold medal in floor exercise and bronze medals in parallel bars, horizontal bars, table vaults and rings and finished third in overall standings. Sai Krishna won floor exercise silver medal, Krutik was third in the same event. K Kausalya won three silver medals, in floor exercise, balance beam and table vault and was runner-up in the individual category. Visakhapatnam won three bronze medals in acrobatics, through Govaru, Venkat Sai and Sravan.
