Visakhapatnam: K Ashwin Hebbar of Nellore received the highest bid of Rs 8.7 lakh, followed by Ricky Bhui (Rs 8.1 lakh) in the auction of players held for the inaugural season of the Shriram Andhra Premier League (APL) here on Friday.
Hebbar was in the IPL Delhi Capitals team and Vizag Warriors bagged him. Bhui went to Bezawada Warriors. KS Bharat was taken for Rs 6 lakh by Uttarandhra Lions. KV Sasikanth and Anantapur all-rounder P Girinath Reddy (Rs 6.1 lakh each) were bought by Godavari Titans and Rayalaseema Kings respectively. The six teams selected 20 players for the APL starting here on July 6.
Other icon players: K Nitish Kumar Reddy (Godavari Titans, Rs 5L), Ch Stephen (Coastal Riders, Rs 4.5L), D Naren Reddy (Vizag Warriors, Rs 4L), Sk Rasheed (Rayalaseema Kings, Rs 3.5L), Shoaib Md Khan (Uttarandhra Lions, Rs 2L), M Hari Shankar Reddy (Coastal Riders, Rs. 1.6L) and B Ayyappa (Bezawada Tigers, Rs 1.5L). tnn
