Visakhapatnam: Vizag rural police arrested five persons on Thursday for the murder of D Pradeep (20), final year BTech student of Avanthi Institute of Engineering and Technology at Makaravapalem.
The cops said Pradeep was murdered over a love affair in Kasimkota on October 29 and that his body was found on the banks of
River Sarada
on October 31.
Those arrested were identified as K
Venkata Sai
alias Vizag Sai, G Saketh, Y Chinna and Y Murthy. Police suspect that K Kiran, a soldier with the
Indian Army and few others, could be involved in the murder case. The cops have sent a letter to the Indian Army headquarters seeking permission to interrogate Kiran.
Speaking to media persons, additional superintendent of police SJ Rajkumar said the five persons confessed that they along with a few others had beaten Pradeep to death. However, cops are yet to get the forensic report to ascertain the cause of death.
