He added that the elections have been postponed at the behest of Chandrababu Naidu.
“The decision has come as a shock and as a reminder about the manner in which Chandrababu Naidu can make others playact on his behalf,” the YSRC’s Rajya Sabha MP said.
State minister for municipal administration and urban development Botcha Satyanarayana said, “The issue is with the sudden decision of the election commission. We clearly see Naidu’s had in this.”
Both Botcha and Vijayasai alleged that the decision was taken to prevent YSRC from getting a clean sweep in the elections.
Botcha further said that the TDP chief was an old hand at using undemocratic means and methods and was against the development of the state and the process of democratisation.
“The whole local body election exercise was taken up to ensure better governance for people and their empowerment,” the minister said.
Meanwhile, two people from TDP— Dr Zaheer Ahmed and Dr Bangarayya joined the YSRC. Dr Bangarayya had contested the state elections on a TDP ticket in 2019 from Payakaraopeta.
