Visakhapatnam: The city police seem to have made strides in solving the
murder of Villapu Rambabu by arresting eight people for the crime on Friday evening. The accused were allegedly involved in the murder of Villapu Rambabu, a resident of Vambey Colony in Madhurawada, who was killed on September 3.
Those arrested have been identified as P Venkatesh (24), E Santosh Kumar (24), Jami Naveen Reddy (26), Boyi Naveen (24), K Sandeep Kumar (23), G Balaji Rakesh (21), A Santosh Banvani Sankar Reddy (25) and Puvvala Narayana (29).
The accused were arrested at the ground near the Railway School area. Speaking to the media, deputy commissioner of police (law and order zone 1), S Ranga Reddy said that inspector of PM Palem police station arrested the accused, including the main accused P Venkatesh. According to reports, the deceased, Villapu Rambabu and his friends Anji and Siva had attacked P Venkatesh’s friend Krishna Mohan in the month of June. Subsequently, Rambabu had reportedly tried to provoke Venkatesh a number of times.
On September 3, Rambabu and his friends attacked P Venkatesh and his friends at an Anna canteen at Vambey Colony. Following the attack, Venkatesh found Rambabu alone and attacked him with a knife and a stone, thereby allegedly killing him.
