Dy CM, VZM collector turn actors for a day

drew attention on social media platforms after they turned actors for a day. They acted in a Telugu film titled Amrutha Bhoomi on organic farming.

Speaking to TOI, the minister said “It is a film with a good social message. That why I acted in the film. The government is always supportive of constructive efforts.”

Vizianagaram’s Thotapalli based Jattu Trust and Andhra Pradesh state agriculture department are jointly producing the film, which will be hitting the screens on Sankranti 2020.

Vangapandu Prasada Rao, famous folk song lyricist from Parvatipuram in Vizianagaram district, has written the script, dialogues and the lyrics of 17 songs for the film. The shooting began a month ago, said producer D Parinaidu.

Speaking to TOI, Parinaidu said the government has assured to sponsor nearly Rs 10 lakh of the Rs 50 lakh budgeted for film. He said the deputy chief minister, who is from the same district, has acted as a teacher in the film, while Hari Jawaharlal has acted as a collector.

“The film has a message for the public, particularly farmers, on the importance of natural farming or organic farming. The duration of the film would be around 2 hours. The shooting will be completed by December, 2019,” Parinaidu said.

Speaking to TOI, Vizianagaram collector Jawaharlal said that he played a role of collector in the film to spread awareness among the farmers about the schemes and government activities etc.
