VISAKHAPATNAM: A city task force (CTF) team lead by sub-inspector

conducted a raid in rooms 102 & 103 of
Dakshin Sea Paradise Lodge
(
DSP Lodge
), Allipuram, and apprehended five persons including a woman from Odisha with 80 kgs of ganja.
Cash of Rs 3,000 and 3 mobile phones were also seized from their possession.
During enquiry it was revealed that the apprehended persons indulged in illegal transportation of the contraband from Berhampur (Odisha) to Pune (Maharashtra). The seized ganja is worth about Rs 3,20,000. Those apprehended were handed over to the SHO, Two Town police station for further action.
Meanwhile, the CTF also conducted raids under the team led by V
Narayana Murthy and K V
Satish Kumar, and seized khainis and guthkas at stock points in Allipuram, Yellamathota, Nakkavanipalem, Gurudwara Junction, Pinagadi and the Old Town. Huge quantities of khaini and guthka worth Rs 4.71 lakh were seized. Those apprehended were handed over to the food and safety officer, GVMC.
