Couple convicted in DA case

VISAKHAPATNAM: The CBI court, Visakhapatnam convicted Sukala Venkatapathy, retired senior foreman, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, Kadapa and his wife S Swarnalatha in a disproportionate assets case and sentenced them to a year of rigorous imprisonment (RI). It also imposed a fine of 10,000 each. Sukala Venkatapathy, while discharging duties as a public servant in Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. had acquired disproportionate assets to the tune of 47,54,772, while Swarnalatha was found guilty of abetting her husband to acquire the assets in her name.
