Visakhapatnam: The police department has set up helpline centres for the benefit of tourists at famous tourist spots Araku, Borra caves and other places in Alluri Sitarama Raju district. On Saturday, district superintendent of police S Satish Kumar inaugurated the centres at Araku and Borra caves.
The SP said tourists can get the details of tourist spots in the district, and hotels and lodges at the tourist spots from the helpline centres. Tourist can also find help in other matters from these centres, if any, as the police would be available at the centres. The SP, along with his team, visited Sariya waterfalls in Jenapadu panchayat in Anantagiri mandal and inspected the security measures taken by the local police. Chaparai waterfalls was opened for tourists after 10 days of closure for sanitation works. Collector Sumit Kumar expressed anger at the officials after noticing garbage during his visit to Araku on November 29.
