City students clear JEE Adv with flying colours

Visakhapatnam: Several students of Visakhapatnam have cleared and received high ranks in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced examination, the results of which were released on Friday. The test was conducted for admissions to the 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) spread across the country. More than 30 students from the city received all-India ranks below 2,000. Some of these students are: K Ashish (160), B Akash Raja (315), G Manoj (436), S Harsha Vardhan (452), V Koushik (483), P Harsha Vardhan (515), P Kusuma Kumari (581), TY Chandrasai (743), Sai Charan Sampara (863), K Surya (882), Y Harsha Vardhan (961) and Arusha Krishnasya (966).

Speaking to TOI, Akash Raja, who got an

all-India rank

of 315 in

JEE Advanced

and ranked 39 in the AP Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (Eamcet), said that he wants to pursue a BTech (CSE) degree at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. P Kusuma Kumari, rank 581 in JEE Advanced and 41 in Eamcet, also aspires to study at IIT Bombay.

Visakhapatnam centre head, P Mastan Rao said that a total of 99 students from the Visakhapatnam centre have got good ranks in the Advanced results. He congratulated the students and the faculty of the institute. Dean of Narayana educational institutions, G Ramalingeswara Rao, said that more than 200 of their students qualified JEE Advanced.
