Cine glamour will be on show at Visakha Utsav

Visakhapatnam: Cinematic glamour will be added to this year’s Visakha Utsav as the district administration looks to rope in Tollywoold actors Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, Ravi Teja to Vizag, besides music directors Devisri Prasad and Taman. Visakha Utsav will be held on December 28 and December 29.

State tourism minister Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao and tourism department commissioner Praveen Kumar, along with district collector V Vinay Chand, Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) commisisoner G Srijana and police commissioner RK Meena reviewed the arrangements for the festival.

The minister asked officials not to leave room for mistake and to give priority to local artists. Chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy will inaugurate the Utsav while governor Biswabhusan Harichandan will attend the second day.

On day one, a carnival will be organised and some film actors will participate in the inaugural function on RK Beach. Anchors Suma and Silpa Chakravarthi, among others, are expected to attend the event.

A three-day flower show will be held at YSR Central Park. Replicas of well-known temples in north Andhra will be on display at RK Beach, as well as a photo exhibition, a food court and a sport’s arena.

The Visakha Utsav is a tourism event conducted every year by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) and the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (

VMRDA

). The event aims to promote the brand image of Vizag and showcase the culture and heritage of the state.
