VISAKHAPATNAM: Eastern Naval Command (ENC) chief vice-admiral Satish Soni said 'Blue Economy' driven by the use of marine resources will play a pivotal role in the near future as resources on the earth are getting exhausted. Keeping this in mind, the Indian Navy is making all possible efforts to develop the wing, he added.
Speaking to participants at an interactive session with representatives from various industries organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) here on Monday, the ENC chief said the domestic industry should maintain stringent quality control to meet the Indian Navy's requirements in its indigenization plan announced recently.
Satish Soni said the navy will offer many opportunities to the domestic industry and that the indigenisation plan will help the industries to know about the requirements of the Navy.
On the occasion, Satish Soni said that the International Fleet Review slated to be held in the city in February 2016 will be attended by the President and the Prime Minister besides navies of around 29 countries.
