Visakhapatnam: Tamil Nadu scored at will against Andaman Nicobar Islands to win with a 32-0 margin and Maharashtra blanked Puducherry 7-0 as the two teams went all out in their bid to top pool H in the 13th senior women hockey championship at the DSA ground, Kakinada, on Thursday. Sabari Maharimathanana scored nine goals, S Soniya seven and Leema and Nandhini three each in the Tamil Nadu win.

Pradeep’s century guides RDT to victory
Pradeep scored a century to lead RDT to an eight-wicket win over VCA, Hyderabad in the inaugural match of the Vincent Ferrer veterans cricket tournament for Mansingh-Moncho rolling trophy at the Anantapur Cricket Ground on Thursday.
Brief scores: VCA, Hyderabad 229/5 in 30 overs (Giri 60 no, Chandrasekhar 42, Damodhar 39) lost to RDT 231/2 in 24 overs (Pradeep 134, Harinath Reddy 30, Akbar 29, Shankar 28).
Chess trials on Feb 19
Trials to select the Visakhapatnam district under-7 and under-17 open and girls players for the state championships will be held at the Srujana School near the PM Palem last bus stop here on February 19. The top two boys and girls in the two events would represent the district in the state championships to be held later. Boys and girls born on or after January 1, 2016 and January 1, 2006 are eligible to participate in the under-7 and under-17 events respectively.
