AP team visits Chinese medical devices park

Visakhapatnam: With Vizag expected to host India's first full-fledged medical devices manufacturing zone, a delegation led by AP health minister Kamineni Srinivas visited the Shanghai International Medical Zone to study the medical device manufacturing industry practices in China.

Accompanied by health principal secretary Poonam Malakondaiah and AP Med Tech Zone chief executive officer Jitendar Sharma, the team also comrpised members of consultancy firm KPMG, who are preparing the detailed project report for the medical devices manufacturing park in the city.

As part of the visit, the delegation visited Analogic - world's most popular component and board manufacturers - as well as Shanghai Testing and Inspection Institute for Medical Devices as well as a number of other manufacturing units and common facilities located within the zone. The visit was made to ensure that AMTZ carries the best practices and world-class infrastructure right from the stage of planning, according to AP Med Tech Zone officials.
