In the wake of suspected Anthrax outbreak in Visakha Agency, the animal husbandry department officials have collected samples of soil and water from the villages and sent them to the veterinary biological research centre for test on Monday evening.

VISAKHAPATNAM: In the wake of suspected Anthrax outbreak in Visakha Agency, the animal husbandry department officials have collected samples of soil and water from the villages and sent them to the veterinary biological research centre for test on Monday evening. However, the officials did not find any evidence of animals dying due to anthrax.
According to sources, at least five persons from Boddaput and Nimmalapadu in Hukumpet mandal in the agency areas have suspected to have symptoms of Anthrax as they have been suffering from skin allergy with dark spots on their hands and legs for the past five days.

All the affected persons have been shifted to KGH, they added.
