The MPDO Kumar along with other medical and health department personnel trekked more than 8 kms on Thursday to reach the tribal hamlet Karriguda of Gumma panchayat under Ananthagiri mandal in ASR district following the instruction of the ASR district administration. Karriguda village does not have road connectivity and lacks basic amenities.

The officials conducted a medical camp in the village on Thursday as some people in the village fell sick with diarrhoea.

While returning from the village, the MPDP fell sick due to trekking on Thursday night. He was given first aid by the medical staff at the spot and later he was carried in a Doli to shift to the road point from where the staff reached their homes.

Residents of the hill-top village have been demanding road connectivity for a long time. Though the funds for the road connectivity to the hill-top villages were allocated, the project remained incomplete. The tribal said that neither the public representatives nor the officials committed to lay roads to hill-top areas.
