Andhra Pradesh: Dr K Sudhakar appears before Vizag police

VISAKHAPATNAM: The suspended Narsipatnam Area Hospital doctor K Sudhakar on Thursday appeared at the Fourth Town Police station on Thursday.
His comments and his appearance indicated a twist in the case as he requested chief minister YS Jagan to forgive him and reinstate him. Interestingly, he had gone underground after getting discharged from Mental Care Hospital.
The doctor admitted that his only mistake was visiting the former TDP minister Ch Ayyannapatrudu’s house before he complained of lack or masks for medical staff.
City police chief Rajeev Kumar Meena expressed anger and said that when the case is being investigated by the CBI on the orders of high court, why the doctor is visiting the police station. He even said that the doctor had political backing.
Dr Sudhakar was allegedly beaten up by cops on May 16 when he allegedly created a ruckus under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody and his car was seized by the police. Later, the high court took sue-motto cognizance of his case. The CBI has already filed two FIRs, including one against the unknown cops, public servants and others, and the second one against the Dr Sudhakar based on the FIR registered by the Fourth Town police
Police officials were shocked to see Dr Sudhakar at the Fourth Town Police station for the second time in the past three days. When they enquired, he urged them to return his ATM cards kept in his car seized by the cops. But police said that the case is now being investigating by the CBI and they have no right to handover anything to him.
Sudhakar told journalists that around 30 people attacked him on that day with a plan.
“I have been receiving calls after the incident. I have neither an intention to abuse CM Jagan or PM Modi nor the governments. I have great respect for late CM YSR and I participated in his padayatra. I have gone to meet Narsipatnam MLA over the masks issue but I couldn’t meet him. I have no disputes with the MLA. I committed a mistake of visiting TDP leader Ayyannapatrudu’s house and there was no politics. I did not consume liquor that day,” doctor Sudhakar said.
He said somebody misled the police and he doesn’t want any cases.
“I would complete 20 years of service on August 17. I am urging the CM Jagan to forgive me and reinstate me so that I can resume my duties. I don’t know why my mother is holding press meets,” he added. .
Police chief RK Meena came to the Fourth Town Police Station to examine the progress in a murder case and came to know about the doctor Sudhakar’s presence at the police station. He expressed anger and told journalists that why the doctor has been roaming around the police station when the case is investigating by the CBI.
‘We will bring all this to the notice of CBI. The high court had given a direction and we are following it. How can he blame the police? How can we reinstate him? Whenever he comes out, a few political leaders accompany him. We will inform the CBI,” Meena said.
