Andhra Pradesh: 8 women injured in fire cracker unit blast at Samarlakot

SAMARLAKOT (EAST GODAVARI): At least eight women, three of them critically, were seriously injured when a blast occurred at a firecracker unit in G Medapadu in Samrlakot mandal of East Godavari on Monday morning.

The victims have been identified as B Dhana Lakshmi, K Anita, B Lava Kumari, K Veere Raghavamma, Y Aruna, B Chellayamma, K. Lakshmiand K Satyaveni. The injured are admitted in the hospital at Kakinada.

According to sources, the blast took place at Indira Fire Crackers Manufacturing Centre at around 8.45 am. Around 15 women were working in a big hut close to the fire crackers unit, where the blast took place. Cops have registered a case in this regard. The firecrackers manufacturing unit has a valid license.
