Andhra Pradesh: 12-year-old student's death spark protests in Paderu of ASR district
VISAKHAPATNAM: The death of a 12-year-old-boy, who, was found lifeless under suspicious circumstances at an isolated place near Cinema Hall Centre at Paderu in ASR district has led to a protest from the family members, relatives, friends of the deceased and student’s organizations at Paderu on Thursday.
The family members and relatives of the deceased alleged that someone might have killed the boy and dumped the body near the bushes.
The deceased was identified as P Naveen, a Class-VII student of a Government Tribal Welfare Ashram School for Boys, Lochaliputtu locality under Paderu Mandal. Naveen was a native of Surlapalem village under G Madugula Mandal.
The boy was found lifeless near the boundary wall of the residential school on Wednesday evening and there were some wounds on the minor’s body. The sub-inspector of Paderu, P Lakshman Rao and his team went to the spot and shifted the body for the post-mortem.
The boy’s father P Mahendra said that Naveen came to Surlapalem a few days ago and he dropped his son to the school on Tuesday. When I went to the school on Wednesday to meet my son, the school authorities didn't allow me, Mahendra added. He also alleged that senior students of the school teased Naveen and he demanded a comprehensive inquiry into the death of his son to ascertain the exact reasons.
Leaders and activists of the student’s organizations (SFI and ABVP) staged protests at a few places in Paderu demanding the authorities to initiate action against the people who were responsible for the death of the boy.
Speaking to TOI, Inspector of Paderu, B Sudhakar ruled out the murder angle in the boy’s death. The investigation is on to ascertain the exact reasons for the death of the boy, he added.
The death of the boy led to some tension in the town as protests erupted from various organizations. The police said that they will get a clue in the case very soon to solve the mystery.
