Visakhapatnam: Andhra went down to Rajasthan by two wickets to taste defeat for the first time in three matches in the Elite Group A league of the BCCI women’s T20 tournament at the floodlit Seichem stadium in Puducherry on Friday evening. Rajasthan lost three wickets at 126 with three runs away from the target but managed to win off the last ball.

took three wickets for Andhra and Ch Jhansilakshmi and Pravallika one each. Earlier, Andhra posted 128 for eight, thanks to captain V Sneha Deepthi’s knock of 70 runs. She added 43 for the third wicket with Henreitta Pereira (16) and 39 for the fourth wicket with S Himabindu(6).

Cop wins four golds
Ch Srinivasa Rao, a constable working at the Pedabayalu Police Station, won four gold medals in the fifth inter-district masters aquatic championships held at the NGR GMC swimming pool, Guntur recently. Srinivasa Rao won gold medals in the 400M freestyle, 200M individual medley, 100M butterfly and 50M breaststroke events and qualified for the first pan India masters games swimming event to be held in Bengaluru next month. He was congratulated by the superintendent of police of Alluri Sitarama Raju district. DSP (SB) Murthy was also present.
Karthik hits unbeaten 73
K. Karthik hit an unbeaten half-century to lead Sun Institute to a seven-wicket win over SBI in the VDCA institutions league (T20 matches) at the ACA-VDCA stadium here on Friday. Charan played well for the loser. NRI Hospitals beat GIMSR by eight wickets in another match.
